Every time couples get engaged, I wonder how they decide on their wedding date. I mean, they've come a long way deciding to get married, but how is the wedding date decided?I understand it all depends on the season at times, but do couples close their eyes and point to a random date on the calendar?
I know it sounds silly, but do couples pick a random date to get married? I know some don't. For example, a friend of mine got married on Halloween because it's she and her fiancee's favorite holiday, and I know a couple that is getting married the same day she and her fiancee started dating exclusively. Interesting, eh?
Did (or does) your wedding date had/have a hidden, significant meaning behind it? How did you decide when you were going to get married?
When my wife and I got married, we picked the date from the day we got engaged. I think that's how most people do it. We knew it'd take a good year or two for everything to fall into place so two years from that day, we decided.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I decided to get married a year from the day we got engaged. It just seemed easier =)
ReplyDeleteI actually picked my wedding date based on the weather. I wanted to make sure I had a good hair day, so I got married in the fall. Sometimes you are limited because you have to make sure the church and the reception venue are available on the same day. I was married in Nantucket in October!
