And The Wedding Date Is...

Every time couples get engaged, I wonder how they decide on their wedding date. I mean, they've come a long way deciding to get married, but how is the wedding date decided?

I understand it all depends on the season at times, but do couples close their eyes and point to a random date on the calendar?

I know it sounds silly, but do couples pick a random date to get married? I know some don't. For example, a friend of mine got married on Halloween because it's she and her fiancee's favorite holiday, and I know a couple that is getting married the same day she and her fiancee started dating exclusively. Interesting, eh?

Did (or does) your wedding date had/have a hidden, significant meaning behind it? How did you decide when you were going to get married?

  1. When my wife and I got married, we picked the date from the day we got engaged. I think that's how most people do it. We knew it'd take a good year or two for everything to fall into place so two years from that day, we decided.

  2. My husband and I decided to get married a year from the day we got engaged. It just seemed easier =)

  3. I actually picked my wedding date based on the weather. I wanted to make sure I had a good hair day, so I got married in the fall. Sometimes you are limited because you have to make sure the church and the reception venue are available on the same day. I was married in Nantucket in October!
